Currently the chairman of Broadcast 3DTV, Inc., Dean Zanetos has been active as a television and film producer, writer, and director for more than 20 years. He has helmed scripted programs as well as concerts featuring Sheryl Crow, Steve Miller, Diana Krall, and Tony Bennett. Earlier in his career, Dean Zanetos produced The Robert Guillaume Show for ABC.
Perhaps best known for the Emmy-award winning character of Benson on Soap and its spinoff Benson, Robert Guillaume has had a distinguished career on both stage and screen. Raised in St. Louis, Guillaume served in the United States Army before studying business administration at St. Louis University and voice at Washington University, where he earned a scholarship to the Aspen Music Festival.
His appearance in Colorado garnered him further recognition and numerous roles in New York City theater. Playing Nathan Detroit in a Broadway production of Guys and Dolls earned him a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical in 1977. Two years later, he made his television debut in the role of Benson. Since then, he has appeared in notable projects such as Seems Like Old Times, Lean On Me, and Sports Night. Additionally, he voiced Rafiki in The Lion King and won a Grammy Award for his performance in the film’s audiobook.
